If there is one thing that I’ve learned over the past quarter of a century as a realtor in Hawaii, it’s that the market here offers plenty of choice.
- Looking for a close walk to the beach? We’ve got that.
- Interested in a range of dining and entertainment options minutes away? We’ve got that.
- Searching for a more peaceful neighborhood, away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki? We’ve got that too!
And I didn’t even touch on the great weather and scenery.
One of the first things I do when I’m contacted by a prospective buyer is learn more about their interests along with their budget. While a particular school district may be a top priority for some buyers, others may value a short walk to the beach or are more interested in maximizing the equity of a long-time home as they downsize and enjoy the next chapter of their life in different surroundings.
Since Hawaii is a popular tourist destination, I also get inquiries from around the world from people who are looking to purchase a second home or explore their future retirement residence. Fortunately, I speak three languages (English, Taiwanese and Mandarin) and have become very familiar with numerous time zones around the world to stay connected.
New properties gaining attention
One of the neighborhoods that is checking all of the boxes for many of my clients is Kaka’ako which is located in the heart of Honolulu. A former fishing village, it is slowly transforming into a nine block, masterplan community.
The emerging neighborhood features a growing series of new, luxury condominiums that are mixing in with a vibrant dining and entertainment area – all just a short walking distance from the Ala Moana Center and the Ala Moana Beach Park.
Already, Kaka’ako is becoming known for hosting various events and festivals and as the community grows, it is sure to become known even more for its magnetic atmosphere.
Due to my expertise and many connections, I am familiar with several of these new condominiums, including Kali’u Ala Moana which sits on the front row of Ala Moana Blvd. If it’s location, location, location you want, it’s hard to beat this property.

A proud legacy
While some may consider real estate to be a career, I actually consider it to be my passion. I’ve had the honor of helping many individuals and their families grow their wealth by investing in real estate, occasionally utilizing the 1031 exchange to defer taxes.
Fortunately, I’m supported by a locally owned company – Locations LLC – that has been in business for over 50 years! Through their support, I have access to excellent research – including detailed monthly reports – that assist in pinpointing neighborhoods that offer compelling value and inventory on different parts of the Island of Oahu.
There’s an old saying that teamwork makes the dream work and I couldn’t agree more. It’s a great company that allows me to guide many clients from exploration to escrow.
